Preview of a new track off the new album from Kaskade…
This ch00ne is pure unadulterated house music. Don’t worry though, the euphoric dream sweeps Kaskade is known for make an appearance, but it is good to hear him pushing a different vibe.
Posting Benassi’s remix of Florence and the Machine got me wanting to dig up the past…. Wow. This is one of the first electronic songs I started listening to ever. Blast from the past.
Panic City and Supersede’s remix of No Beef is phenomenal. Although I am a fan of the dirty dutch original, this track is much more playable to all crowds and focuses the attention much more effectively on Miss Palmer’s vocals, which I thought were more or less an afterthought of the Vocal Mix put out by ‘Afroki’.

Calvin Harris has been touring along side Rihanna since early last summer, so it was only a matter of time before the two decided to collaborate on a track. We Found Love is a perfect unification of both artists’ sounds. Rihanna delivers melodic and yearning lyrics and Calvin busts out another anthemic beat, which makes the track uniquely house rather than just the same electropop sound that has been dominating the Top 40 charts. This one will certainly be being played out everywhere, so grab it while it’s hot!
A classic. By a classic.
Servin up some fresh Justice to the masses! Helix just leaked off the new album coming out. The sound Gaspard and Xavier seemed to have landed on for the LP is sounding really awesome and I can’t wait for the entire thing to drop in a month!
Brand new track from Mim and Live, better known as Nervo. The twin aussies have gotten together with Steve Aoki and Afrojack to produce the uplifting house anthem, We’re All No One. It’s a solid track with airy vocals provided by Nervo themselves. This is one of those end-of-summer-songs so go enjoy it before the fall!
My mind is still blown from Gui Boratto’s EZoo set. Fortunately, the Brazilian minimalist just released a new album this week. I haven’t had a chance to listen all the way through, but the final track This Is Not The End steals the show for me. It has a familiar Gui Boratto tone and features the beautiful buzzing voice of Luciana Villanova, who many may recognize from some of his other tracks. Different than No Turning Back and Beautiful Life though, this track is stripped of any real climax. It is a musing walk through confusion, nostalgia, and hope… just how I like my Gui Boratto music.
New Blood! Fake Blood has always been known for putting out some amazing records. His forthcoming Deep Red EP looks like it will keep the trend alive. All three tracks have got something cool to offer, though Voices is definitely my favorite of the bunch. The beginning of the record has this amazing backdoor jazz feel. As the gurgling ‘voices’ start to build up, Theo drops in some very Jack Beats-esque sounds. At the 1:30 mark… fuck. May not sound like too much coming out of your laptop speakers, but put that beast on a good system and you’re insides are gonna start doing a dance you never thought they could. Get ready to clean the pipes, haha!
The fellas at Vacay have got the dl for Voices and Medieval off the EP along with some other incredible Vitamins from their EZoo experience, so go get your fix…
I’m sure many of you have heard the absolutely tragic news that DJ Mehdi has passed away. My thoughts go out to his friends and family and the entire Ed Banger team. I had only recently begun to discover Mehdi’s amazing music and it’s a real tragedy that it his time has been cut short. Go listen to his music and celebrate his memory. RIP Mehdi.

Although I think the original stands fine on its own, Swedish House Mafia’s remix of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall by Coldplay elevates the track from an alternative, electro-rock ballad into a celebration of youth in the form of a full-blown house anthem. Chris Martin’s vocals sink into the remix perfectly and the synths brilliantly mimic the vibrant and optimistic chords of the original. As always, solid work by the SHM.
Dang, it’s been quite the year already for Dirty South. First he locked down one of 2011’s club anthems with his remix of Coming Home by Diddy-Dirty Money. Then he put out his new single Alive, with Thomas Gold featuring Kate Elsworth. Now he’s back with another fantastic and emotional remix of Skylar Grey’s Invisible. Dirty South has found an incredible niche in his music that tackles both the nostalgic and redemptive. His songs take beautiful pauses to let the vocals shine and then power through with a hook that gets you off your feet and ready to dance until sunrise.
Today calls for a really laid-back track (I’m hungover and it’s overcast outside). Calling Massive Attack and Gui Boratto. This remix of Paradise Circus is simply gorgeous. Soft beats and nostalgic vocals… perfect.
I had the pleasure of going to ID Festival yesterday in Bristow, VA. This was one of the tracks that stood out to me early on in the festival. Dropped during Nervo’s set, it was exactly the vibe to get people ready for the sunset sets and the big night ahead. Classic uplifting house anthem right here.
I know I JUST posted about D. Guetta the other day, but his album is dropping at the end of the month and a new single just hit the web and it is actually awesome! Featuring everyone’s favorite, Afrojack, Lunar is the first dance track of David Guetta’s since his ‘Pop Life’ album that I’ve truly been excited about. This track is straight electro-house and draws from the best of both producers. Check it!!!
