From Barbra Streisand to the Big Bad Wolf, Duck Sauce is back with the humorously addicting style that they’ve become known for worldwide. These guys are doing something right if they can get me chanting something as ridiculous as “The Big Bad Wolf!” while I’m dancing. The track hits exceptionally hard and thick on the bassdrum and is almost entirely percussion, which is a fresh take on dance music, which often relies on lots of layers and synths. Embrace the your childish side and give this one a shot. The boys over at Vacay have got the download for you, so pop on over and nab it up.
Beware of the Big Bad Wolf.
This one has been around for awhile, but there is nothing like the crunch of a perfect bassline to make you go BONKERS.
MASQUERADE MOTEL GUESTLIST LINEUP:
A-Trak, AN21, Armand van Helden, Calvin Harris, Dirty South, Kim Fai, Max Vangeli, Pete Tong, Third Party, Thomas Gold
Here’s my take. Everyone was very upset when they heard SHM was not playing UMF and instead creating their own exclusive event not only because the trio of Swedes wouldn’t be dropping the tracks which became the EDM anthems of 2010 (and possibly 2011), but also because they would be roping in other artists that could’ve performed at Ultra. Although I am certain that the Masquerade Motel is going to be an incredible event, when weighing the ticket price/lineup to UMF, I still think the latter is the better option.
If you’re looking for the biggest artists, Masquerade presents SHM, Dirty South, Duck Sauce (damn), and Calvin Harris (although Harris recently announced that he would no longer be singing during his acts, which I consider a huge blow to his live appeal). Ultra on the other hand is guaranteed to have a much larger number of high-caliber DJs. I suppose if you’re not a Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun, or Deadmau5 fan, the Masquerade may be a good mid-Ultra option, but I still think UMF is the way to go.
To each their own. I’ll be at Ultra enjoying the hundreds of artists in attendance… however there will be a little part of me which will be yearning for these tracks:
